Position Title: Experienced Welder
Location: Mount Uniacke, NS
Job Summary
As an experienced Welder, you are responsible for fabricating steel stud wall panel frames using MIG welders and automatic welding machinery, including:
- Review sequencing list to organize work to achieve production requirements
- Interpret shop drawings used to assemble steel stud panels
- Measure and prepare materials for welding
- Using MIG welding machine, complete welds to form wall panel
- Move wall panel forms to hydraulic lifting table using jib crane
- Operate hydraulic lifting table and complete under panel welds
- Transition finished panel frame to sheathing station via rolling racks
Who You Are
You are the right person for the job if you are a hardworking individual who will bring efficiency and ideas to the table to increase our output, capability, and quality. You have experience in a cold-formed steel or fabrication shop. You are comfortable with MIG welding and utilizing computerized machinery. You demonstrate a high degree of care and attention in your work.
Your Skills & Abilities
- Hold valid certificate of qualification appropriate for the position
- Have 3+ years of welding experiance
- Able to interpret shop drawings used to assemble steel stud wall panels
- Must be able to use and read an imperial unit tape measure
- Take responsibility of the workstation, keeping up with production, as well as keeping it and the tools/equipment used for the job in good working order
- Reliable/punctual
- Safety oriented
- You have good attention to detail and take pride in your work
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds unaided, occasionally up to 100lbs
- Must have reliable transportation. There is no public transportation nearby
- Must be willing and able to successfully achieve WHMIS, First Aid, Forklift, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training certificates
- Completion of high school (or GED equivalent) with one year in a production environment would be an asset
- Must have CSA-approved safety footwear
